Richard joined the PGA in 2002 and is now a Class AA member.

After representing his county and playing nationally as an amateur he graduated with a National Diploma in golf studies at Myerscough College in 2000. He began his training at Kendal golf club and since then has obtained a wide range of coaching expertise from traditional club experience to College based coaching where he helped develop the Academy at Myerscough college combined with lecturing on coaching theory and practice as well as performance.

He has played competitively throughout his career gaining valuable experience which he has passed on to all his pupils. Richards’s philosophy is to tailor his coaching to the individual, encouraging enjoyment of the game with a will to improve at all levels.
